Machine No. 2 – pressing the bushing into the housing

No. 2 machine of semi-automated production line for assembly of 3rd generation Audi EGR valve with subsequent adaptation for the alternative assembly of the 2nd generation EGR valve.

Machine No. 2 – pressing the bushing into the housing

Machine for pressing the bushing and V-seal cartridge into the valve housing

Project: Assembly line for the EGR valve – Audi V6
Number of workstations within the machine: 6
Term of delivery: 2015 – 2016

PARAMETERS:
Width: 2000 mm
Depth: 2155 mm
Height: 2255 mm
Operating pressure: 0.6 MPa

FEATURES:

The equipment is used for the semi-automated assembly of the V-seal subassy, bushing and O-ring into the EGR valve housing.

WORKPLACES´ EQUIPMENT:

The assembly equipment is designed as a machine with an automatically controlled turntable. There are six working positions around the perimeter of the turntable, one of which is used by the machine operator to insert the input components, and at the same time remove the finished subassembly. The other five positions have automated functions for pressing and crimping of components in the valve housing.
All pressing and crimping operations are shown on graphs, and these are then stored under a date code.

DESIGN OF THE MACHINE:

  • Robust steel frame with closed rails for ease of handling by forklifts, in the lower part 60x60x6 steel beams, in the upper part ITEM beams,
  • Solid/polycarbonate panels – as fixed surfaces or as doors,
  • Workplaces secured with optical safety barriers, electric security locks or bolted connections,
  • Operator panel and control buttons within easy reach of the operator,
  • Electrical switchboard in the rear part of the machine.
